The heating season 2025-2026 in Ukraine is planned to start in mid-October. It has already begun in the Rivne region, and in Kyiv, 90% of buildings are ready for heating.
Electricity: The electricity tariff will remain at the level of 4.32 UAH/kWh until the end of October. For those using electric heating, special tariffs will apply during the heating season.
Gas: The gas tariff will remain at 7.96 UAH per cubic meter until April 2026. Other suppliers set prices in the range of 7.799 to 9.99 UAH per cubic meter.
Preparation of buildings for winter is ongoing: more than 103,000 out of 145,000 are already ready. The Ministry of Energy plans to prepare 17.6 GW of capacity before the start of the heating season.
With the main risk at the beginning of the heating season – the financial aspect – experts warn of possible high gas prices in a cold winter and potential attacks on energy infrastructure. The government emphasizes the protection of energy infrastructure and increasing fuel reserves to ensure hot water and heating during the cold season.
