Operation 'Midas': VAKS Imposed Preventive Measure on Former Advisor to the Minister of Energy of Ukraine
On November 12, 2025, the investigating judge of VAKS partially granted the petition of NABU detectives, agreed upon by the SAP prosecutor, and imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention with an alternative of 126 million UAH bail for the former advisor to the Minister of Energy of Ukraine.
If the bail is posted, the suspect will have to fulfill the following obligations:
- appear at the request of detectives, prosecutors, judges;
- not leave the boundaries of Kyiv and Kyiv region without special permission;
- notify of changes in residence;
- avoid contact with certain individuals;
- surrender passport allowing international travel;
- wear an electronic monitoring device.

According to the Constitution of Ukraine, the suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
After conducting investigations, the investigating judge of VAKS decided to issue a ruling on the preventive measure regarding the former advisor to the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, establishing a large bail amount. The suspect is imposed with conditions that he must adhere to in case the bail is posted. It is reiterated that until the court verdict, the suspect is considered innocent.
