Not All Oschadbank Customers Get Card Validity Extended Through 2026

Не всі клієнти Ощадбанку отримають продовження терміну дії карток до 2026 року.

Oschadbank Extends Payment Card Expiration Dates

Oschadbank has announced an extension for payment cards that were set to expire starting in February 2022. All such cards will remain active at least until December 31, 2026. This extension is applied automatically, allowing many customers to continue using their cards without any extra steps.

Conditions for Card Extension

However, it is important to note that the automatic extension does not apply to 'dormant' cards—those with no recorded financial or transactional activity (such as transfers, bill payments, or cash withdrawals) since January 1, 2025. Additionally, this rule also covers cards with a zero or negative balance, including those with an unpaid overdraft or service debt. Customers holding such cards must request a reissue.

Several options are available for this:

  • through the official mobile app, Mobile Oschad;
  • by calling the bank's unified contact center hotline;
  • in person at any operating Oschadbank branch.

Oschadbank enables its customers to make contactless payments at store and supermarket terminals, withdraw cash from ATMs of any Ukrainian bank, and conduct online purchases and payments on websites. Importantly, if a website requires entering the card's expiration date, customers should use the date printed on the physical card.

These policy changes at Oschadbank come amid broader economic improvements in Ukraine, highlighted by the recent EU Council decision to allocate nearly €2.8 billion to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program. The European Commission also gave a positive assessment of Ukraine's performance under its plan for the fourth quarter of 2025.

Extending the validity of Oschadbank payment cards is a key step to support customers during a challenging economic period. It helps prevent confusion and ensures continuity of financial services for cardholders. The automatic extension also reduces the burden on customers who may not be aware of their card expiration dates.

As Oschadbank implements this extension for many of its customers, it's crucial to remain informed about potential changes. Starting June 30, the bank will begin to block cards that have expired, which could affect those who do not take action on their dormant accounts.
