Kateryna Osadcha’s Advice on Staying Youthful Without Spending a Fortune

Ukrainian TV presenter Kateryna Osadcha recently ignited a heated debate on the social platform Threads after posting advice on how to maintain a youthful appearance without costly treatments. Her remarks came in response to singer Zlata Ognevich, who had suggested that looking young at 40 is largely a matter of having money. Osadcha countered by offering free alternatives to expensive procedures, emphasizing that simple lifestyle habits can be just as effective. This exchange has since drawn widespread attention, highlighting broader societal pressures on women regarding beauty and aging.

Key Recommendations

Osadcha’s tips focused on several core areas:

  • Avoiding smoking and alcohol consumption
  • Maintaining a regular sleep schedule
  • Protecting skin from sun exposure
  • Monitoring overall health and weight
  • Engaging in regular physical activity

She stressed that all of these recommendations come at no cost. 'To stay young for a long time, you need to: not smoke, not drink alcohol. Free of charge. Go to bed on time—free. Don’t fry your face in the sun—free,' the TV host stated.

However, her advice did not receive unanimous support. Many women in her audience criticized her on Threads, arguing that having time for self-care requires financial resources. One user wrote: 'Dear Ms. Osadcha, staying young requires time for yourself. How many women crawl home after work, only to have children to feed?' The cost of dermatologists and other expenses also came under scrutiny, with users accusing the host of using cosmetic services herself.

In response to the backlash, Osadcha insisted she does not inject Botox into her face, demonstrating in a video that her forehead moves and shows wrinkles. She also appeared without professional makeup or stylish clothing, noting that she had taken a six-month break from visiting her cosmetologist. 'A basic minimum or a luxurious maximum? What requires money, and what doesn’t?' she asked rhetorically.

The incident caught the attention of the publication Glavkom, which covered the dispute between Osadcha and Ognevich. Zlata Ognevich also commented on Tina Karol’s appearance, sparking further discussion. Tina Karol, for her part, supported Osadcha’s initiative, calling for an intelligent conversation on the topic. 'Katya, this column is needed! Let’s discuss it intelligently,' she wrote.

As a result, the controversy surrounding Kateryna Osadcha’s anti-aging advice continues to fuel active debates on social media, raising questions about the accessibility of self-care and the role of financial means in maintaining one’s appearance. This also reflects a wider social issue tied to gender roles and societal expectations of women, which can influence their self-perception and overall life satisfaction.
