Educational Benefits for Military Personnel and Their Families Starting in 2026: Free Education and Priority Places

Безкоштовна освіта та переваги для військових і їхніх родин з 2026 року: нові можливості для навчання та розвитку.

Educational Benefits for Military Personnel and Their Families

Starting from 2026, Ukrainian military personnel and their families will receive significant educational benefits, which will include free education and accommodation in dormitories. This innovation will allow military personnel to enhance their qualifications or acquire new education without leaving the service, contributing to their professional development.

Children of military personnel will have guaranteed priority places in kindergartens and schools, ensuring them access to quality education from an early age. For children of veterans with more than 20 years of service or who have become disabled due to service, special conditions are established for admission to specialized lyceums and higher educational institutions. In particular, children whose parents died while fulfilling their duties have the right to enroll without competition.

According to current legislation, a person whose one parent was a serviceman who died or was declared missing by the court has the right to enroll without competition in state educational institutions for three years after finishing school. State support for military personnel and their families will also include:

  • full or partial tuition payment;
  • preferential loans;
  • social scholarships;
  • free provision of textbooks.

These initiatives emphasize the importance of supporting those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, providing them with better opportunities for education and development.

The introduction of educational benefits for military personnel and their families is an important step in supporting those who protect the country and creates conditions for their further development.

These measures may also increase motivation to serve in the Armed Forces, as they provide military personnel with opportunities for education and career development. At the same time, supporting the children of military personnel can foster a positive attitude towards military service among youth and their families.
