Eligibility for the Newborn Support Package
Families welcoming a new child are entitled to receive a one-time support package, commonly known as a 'baby box', containing essential items for the infant. This program provides crucial assistance to newborns and their parents. Importantly, parents have the option to receive a monetary compensation equivalent to the value of the physical package instead.
How to Apply for Assistance
Applications for the newborn support can be submitted through several channels:
- In paper form:
- by visiting a service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine;
- through an administrator at a TsNAP (Center for Administrative Services);
- via an authorized official of the local community or military administration (if a TsNAP is unavailable);
- by mailing the application.
- In electronic form, online, either through the Diia portal as part of the comprehensive 'eBaby' service or via the web portal of the Pension Fund of Ukraine's electronic services.
For parents' convenience, the Fund provides a step-by-step video guide.
This support initiative is a vital measure for parents of newborns, particularly given current economic pressures. The availability of both paper-based and online application methods ensures accessibility for families, helping to reduce administrative hurdles. Similar 'baby box' programs exist in other countries to support early childhood. This system enhances the level of social support for new parents and improves conditions for raising children.
