Fuel prices in Ukraine may skyrocket
Fuel expert Dmytro Leushkin warns that due to restrictions imposed by the United States on countries importing Russian oil, fuel prices in Ukraine may significantly rise. In particular, the price of gasoline and diesel fuel may increase by 10 hryvnias per liter, and the price of automotive gas by 5 hryvnias per liter.
The expert notes that if the main buyers of Russian oil - China and India - refuse supplies under pressure from American sanctions, this could lead to a shortage of raw materials on the international market, which in turn could lead to rising fuel prices worldwide.
'One news about oil shortages is enough, and it will spike in price to $90 per barrel,' the expert warned.
The situation may be complicated by natural disasters, such as hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico, which periodically lead to oil production halts. This could further increase fuel prices.
- Gasoline and diesel fuel will rise by 10 hryvnias per liter
- Autogas will become more expensive by 5 hryvnias per liter
Leushkin notes that the rise in fuel prices may last a long time, and high prices may persist over the next few years. The expert also emphasizes that replacing Russian oil with other supply sources on the global market is a complex process that may take a significant amount of time, leading to further increases in fuel prices.
In short, due to restrictions on Russian oil, Ukrainians can expect a sharp rise in fuel prices, which may be prolonged due to global trends and natural disasters, such as hurricanes.
