Paris Mayor Visits Kyiv
Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo arrived in Kyiv for her sixth visit since the full-scale invasion began, delivering a shipment of energy equipment to bolster Ukraine's power grid. During this trip to the Ukrainian capital, four generators, each with a capacity of 112 kW, were handed over, with an additional four expected in the coming days, bringing the total to eight. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko thanked Anne Hidalgo for her support and presented her with the 'Badge of Honor' award. This delivery is part of a broader international effort to help Ukraine withstand targeted attacks on its energy infrastructure.
Energy Support Programs for Residents and Businesses
Over the last two and a half weeks, 126 apartment buildings have received over 33 million hryvnias for autonomous power supply through the 'LightHome' program, which recently launched in Ukraine. Under this initiative, multi-apartment buildings can receive compensation ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 hryvnias.
Since February 2, entrepreneurs have been able to access a government energy support package, which includes payments of up to 15,000 hryvnias and zero-interest loans for energy equipment. This provides additional opportunities for businesses to improve their energy independence.
Other active support programs in Ukraine include compensation for the costs of generators and solar panels, which can be applied for through the Services Portal. All these efforts are aimed at improving the energy situation in Ukraine and supporting its citizens and businesses during a difficult period.
This visit by the Mayor of Paris underscores the sustained international backing for Ukraine amid a wartime energy crisis. Collaboration between Ukrainian and international partners, particularly in the energy sector, is crucial for ensuring the country's stability and development during this challenging time.
Programs like 'LightHome' and government support for entrepreneurs also highlight the state's efforts to improve national energy infrastructure and bolster the country's economy.
