Puppet Theater Actor Parodies Kozlovsky in Muscle Suit with 'Pina Colada'

Актор лялькового театру в м'язовому костюмі зображує Козловського, насолоджуючись ‘Піна Коладою’.

Vadym Dotsenko's Appearance on 'The Bachelor' Show

During a special anniversary performance for a colleague on the puppet theater show 'The Bachelor,' actor Vadym Dotsenko of the Kyiv Academic Puppet Theater delivered a parody of singer Vitaliy Kozlovsky. Dotsenko took the stage in a wig reminiscent of Kozlovsky's early-career hairstyle, but the centerpiece of the act was a muscular bodybuilder costume that amplified the comedic effect.

The Parody Performance and Artist's Remarks

For his routine, Vadym Dotsenko performed Vitaliy Kozlovsky's song 'Pina Colada.' He began the act wearing a cloak, which was dramatically torn away to reveal his full, muscle-suited character. This performance comes after Kozlovsky himself was forced to halt a concert in Kremenchuk on March 10 due to severe vocal issues, specifically a complete failure of his vocal cords to close.

Reflecting on his performance, Vadym Dotsenko commented: 'Vitaliy Kozlovsky has updated his stage image. They say a new genre is coming to our pop scene – fitness-pop: first a verse, then a bench press.'

He added: 'So, I, as a parodist, had to catch up to the idol's new level and show an updated version of the artist, who has now pumped up not just his voice but his entire body. The main thing now is that his t-shirt can survive a verse.' Parody is a popular and respected art form in Ukrainian entertainment, often used to celebrate or lightly critique public figures.

Dotsenko's act became a standout moment on 'The Bachelor,' drawing attention to both the actor's comedic skill and Kozlovsky's evolving persona. The performance highlights how Ukrainian artists use humor to engage with their peers' work, while Kozlovsky's own transformation points to a growing trend where physical fitness and musical performance are increasingly intertwined.
