Not all cities are equally safe and convenient for solo travelers. In some places, tourists may face a high level of crime, language barriers, persistent scammers, or a lack of proper infrastructure. Traveler Emily Lakston, who loves to travel alone, named five cities around the world that are likely not suitable for solo travel, according to dailymail.

Places Not to Visit for Solo Travel

Cairo, Egypt. Overall, Emily enjoyed traveling in Egypt; however, she does not recommend visiting the capital for women traveling alone, especially if they are just starting their journey. In Cairo, the tourist experienced an excess of male attention, which made her uncomfortable.

Marrakech, Morocco. The situation is the same here - the city is magnificent, but a lonely woman may feel uncomfortable.

Saint Lucia. This country, like most Caribbean nations, only offers an all-inclusive holiday format. Emily did not feel any special atmosphere of solo travel here and noted that Saint Lucia is better suited for a honeymoon.

Berlin, Germany. This is one of the few cities in the world where the traveler felt lonely. She associates this with Berlin being a city with a bustling nightlife, and it is not as fun without company.

Havana, Cuba. The city turned out to be quite run-down and challenging for solo travel. The first few days in Havana did not appeal to Emily at all, but when a friend joined her, the situation improved. Therefore, the traveler believes that Havana is simply not suitable for solo travel.

The Spanish coast attracts travelers from around the world with its sunny beaches, delicious food, and diverse active recreation.

But it is also important to know the prohibitions that apply on the beaches. Otherwise, you might incur a hefty fine.
