In Germany, the phased implementation of PayPal+ began in September 2026, a free loyalty program for private clients. Users earn points for payments and, once reaching Gold status, can get up to 60 euros per year for subscriptions. This is another way to save on daily expenses in Germany. This was reported by AusNews.

How PayPal+ works in Germany from September 2026

Joining PayPal+ is free and can be done directly in the app. PayPal confirms that the program is available to owners of private German accounts without restrictions and is being gradually rolled out.

After registering, users start with Blue status and accumulate points for PayPal payments online and in stores, as well as for transfers for goods and services. There are exceptions for certain transactions.

Points can be converted into funds in the PayPal balance or used to pay for online purchases. With Blue status, 100 points equal 1 euro. Accumulated points may expire if not used within three years after the end of the year in which they were earned.

The program operates separately from store or bank card bonuses. Therefore, under qualifying conditions, users can earn PayPal+ points in addition to any other available discounts or rewards.

For Ukrainians using international financial services, PayPal remains one of the ways to conduct payments and transfers. Inkorr previously reported on popular international transfer systems, among which PayPal is mentioned.

Gold status of PayPal+ provides up to 60 euros cashback

The biggest advantage opens up after reaching Gold status. According to PayPal's official terms, this requires accumulating 4000 points. At launch, the company allowed more time: points earned from September 2026 will count together with points from 2027.

Gold status increases the value of points during online payments: 100 points can be used as 1.20 euros instead of 1 euro. When converting directly to the PayPal balance, the ratio remains 100 points for 1 euro.

Another advantage of Gold is cashback for regular subscriptions. The maximum amount is 5 euros per month, or up to 60 euros per year. The reward is activated automatically upon receiving the corresponding status and applies to both new and existing subscriptions.

Cashback is available for most regular payments regardless of whether they are debited weekly, monthly, or annually. However, there are exceptions for certain categories of sellers, including dating services and gambling.

If multiple subscriptions are paid through PayPal at once, no additional setup is required. Cashback is first credited for the first corresponding payment, and the rest of the monthly limit can be used for the next one.

Payments usually arrive within a few days after the payment. If the cashback does not appear, PayPal advises checking the transaction status, and if the reward is still missing, to contact customer support.

For Ukrainians in Germany, the opportunity to receive additional bonuses may be relevant against the backdrop of changes in income and government support. Recall that earlier Inkorr reported on new rules for social payments in Germany.
