Easter Cakes Delivered to Ukrainian Military Personnel
In a show of support for troops on the front lines, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) and the Vladyslava Molchanova Foundation have provided 12,000 traditional Easter cakes, known as 'paskas'. The blessing ceremony for the cakes was conducted by Metropolitan Epifaniy, the head of the OCU, at the historic St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery in Kyiv. This tradition of delivering Easter treats to soldiers has been a continuous effort since the conflict began in 2014.
The paskas are being distributed directly to combat units, including those on the eastern and southern fronts, through the military chaplaincy service. Vladyslava Molchanova expressed hope for a future peace, stating,
"The time will come when this tradition will change into another—one where we will welcome our defenders, both men and women, back home in a peaceful and prosperous Ukraine."
