Increase in disability pensions in Ukraine

Starting January 1, 2026, there will be an increase in disability pensions in Ukraine, driven by the growth of the minimum living wage. The automatic recalculation of pension payments will not require applications to the Pension Fund, simplifying the process of receiving increased payments for individuals with disabilities.

Changes in pension payments

According to the new changes, the monthly payment for persons with disabilities resulting from the war will increase by 800-1500 hryvnias. The minimum pension for individuals with disabilities of the third group will rise from 8490 to 9340 hryvnias, which is a significant improvement for this category of citizens. For the second group, the pension will increase from 12390 to 13620 hryvnias, and for the first group — from 15340 to 16860 hryvnias.

Moreover, the minimum disability pension will generally increase by 234 hryvnias. Additionally, those who previously received 2360 hryvnias will now receive 2594 hryvnias. As noted by expert Viktor Bohdanov, the greatest increase in payments is expected for individuals with disabilities resulting from the war. These changes aim to improve the financial situation of persons with disabilities in Ukraine.

The automation of the recalculation process will simplify access to financial assistance, which may positively impact the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. These changes reflect the government's efforts to ensure social protection and improve conditions for the most needy segments of the population.
