Pensions for Participants in Combat Operations in 2025: Minimum Payment and Conditions for Appointment
Participants in combat operations in Ukraine receive a guaranteed pension with a minimum amount, which depends on the subsistence minimum for disabled persons. In 2025, the basic pension for this category of citizens is set at 210% of the subsistence minimum for disabled persons, which amounts to 5,528 hryvnias.
To receive payments, combat participants must provide a number of documents, including:
- passport,
- identification code,
- combat participant certificate,
- service documents,
- certificate of monetary provision amount.
The Pension Fund also provides a monthly allowance of 25% of the subsistence minimum, as well as assistance for household needs amounting to 40 hryvnias.
It is important to note that each month of service in the combat zone is equivalent to three months of regular service. The pension of each combat participant is calculated individually. Women with 20 years of service and men with 25 years of service are entitled to a pension amounting to 65% of their monetary provision. The incentive system provides that each additional year of service adds another 3% to the pension, with a maximum payment limit of 70% of the monetary provision amount.
Support for Veterans and Social Policy
Thus, in 2025, combat participants can expect significant support from the state, which takes into account their contribution to the defense of the country and ensures a decent standard of living.
Ensuring pensions for combat participants in 2025 is an important element of Ukraine's social policy, as these payments help support veterans who risked their lives for the country. Moreover, the pension and allowance accrual system reflects the state's obligations to those who participated in protecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. Considering the socio-economic situation in the country, such measures may positively affect the improvement of the living standards of this important category of citizens.
