Pensions in Ukraine will increase in 2026: how much will payments rise

In 2026, the state budget of Ukraine will increase expenditures for pension provision by 123 billion UAH, which will allow for pension indexing and an increase in the minimum subsistence level. The minimum subsistence level for people who have lost their ability to work will rise from 2361 UAH to 2595 UAH, which will positively impact the financial situation of pensioners.

It should be noted that the projected increase in consumer prices will be 9.9%. This may affect the overall standard of living of the population; however, for pensioners who receive supplements, changes in the amounts of payments will remain unchanged for different age groups. Pensioners aged 70 to 75 will receive 300 UAH, those aged 75 to 80 – 450 UAH, and citizens over 80 years old will receive 570 UAH.

Maximum pension amount and automation of payments

The maximum amount of the basic pension to receive these supplements should not exceed 10,340 UAH. Funds are credited automatically from the date of reaching the relevant age, which will simplify the process of receiving assistance for pensioners. Thus, the planned changes will contribute to improving the material situation of Ukrainian pensioners in 2026.

The planned increase in pensions and the minimum subsistence level in Ukraine in 2026 is an important step towards improving the financial situation of pensioners, especially in the context of projected inflation. This will help alleviate the burden that elderly people may feel, considering the rising prices of essential goods and services. At the same time, the automation of supplement payments will simplify the process of receiving financial assistance, which will also positively affect the quality of life of this segment of the population.
