Starting from March 1, 2026, pensions in Ukraine are planned to be indexed by 12.1%. The amount of supplements will be individual and will depend on insurance experience and current payments, with the increase ranging from UAH 100 to UAH 2,595. This was stated by Minister of Social Policy Denys Ulyutin in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
Denys Ulyutin reported that the draft government resolution has already been prepared. According to him, the indexation coefficient was determined by a formula enshrined in legislation: half depends on inflation for the previous year, and half on the growth rate of average wages over three calendar years. The calculations took into account an 8% inflation rate for 2025 and a 16.1% increase in salaries over three years.
Pension Indexation from March 1: How Much Will Be Added and to Whom
After recalculation, the increase, according to the project, cannot be less than UAH 100 and more than UAH 2,595. The ministry expects that the majority of pensioners will receive supplements.
The indexation will not cover certain categories, including:
-
pensioners whose payments have already been set by the state to the minimum guaranteed level
-
those receiving the maximum pension of UAH 25,950
-
prosecutors and judges in retirement.
Minimum Pension in 2026: How Payment Will Change After Recalculation
From March 1, the minimum pension for non-working pensioners will increase from UAH 3,038 to UAH 3,406. The maximum pension, according to the minister, will remain at UAH 25,950, as this is a legislative limitation (up to ten minimum living standards for the incapacitated). Meanwhile, this limit does not apply to pensions granted to defenders of Ukraine under relevant legislation.
The minister also noted that the next stage of recalculation is scheduled for April 1, 2026: it will concern working pensioners, and indexation for them is carried out under the same conditions as for non-working ones.
Earlier we reported how to calculate pension supplements independently in March 2026.
