Pension Reform in Ukraine: Ministry of Social Policy Prepares New Calculation Formula for Payments

Ukrainian pensioners can expect changes in the calculation of their pensions. The head of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, Danilo Hetmantsev, noted that the government intends to implement a new formula for calculating pensions to eliminate injustice, especially for people receiving minimal pensions due to insufficient insurance experience.

Currently, pensions in Ukraine are calculated using a formula based on the last three years of insurance experience. This leads to a situation where people who retire in different years receive significantly different amounts. Therefore, reforming this calculation is an important step towards improving the pension system.

The Ministry of Social Policy is already actively working on new proposals for the pension calculation formula, which could be crucial for ensuring decent pensions for Ukrainians. It is expected that changes will be implemented shortly so that pensions in our country are fair and decent.
