Ukrainian Pension Fund Issues Urgent Alert: Payment Suspension Looms for Some

Увага: Український пенсійний фонд попереджає про можливу зупинку виплат для певних категорій населення.

Urgent Notifications from Ukraine's Pension Fund

The Ukrainian Pension Fund has issued urgent alerts to a specific group of retirees. These individuals must now complete a physical identification process or formally declare that they are not receiving any pension payments from the Russian Federation. The notifications were sent via personal online accounts and primarily target pensioners residing in temporarily occupied territories or those who have moved abroad.

This action concerns people who failed to complete their identification by the December 31, 2025 deadline. As of January 1, 2026, the Pension Fund has halted payments to retirees who did not fulfill this mandatory requirement. Separate reminders have also been sent to pensioners who successfully verified their identity but neglected to submit a declaration confirming they receive no income from the aggressor state.

Critical Importance of Meeting Deadlines

Individuals who completed physical identification in 2025 but did not file the declaration about non-receipt of payments from the aggressor state have received follow-up notices. They are urged to submit this document immediately. While missed payments can be recovered retroactively, adhering to the specified deadlines is crucial to avoid a complete suspension of benefits.

This initiative by the Pension Fund is part of broader state efforts to ensure transparency and control over pension disbursements during wartime. The verification of identity and income sources aims to prevent fraud and guarantee that state funds are distributed fairly to those who genuinely need support. Given the ongoing conflict and the difficult circumstances many Ukrainians face, it is vital for affected pensioners to comply with these requirements to safeguard their financial support.
