High-Level Meeting
On April 22, senior officials from the Pension Fund of Ukraine, UNICEF representatives in Ukraine, and a World Bank delegation held a working meeting. The discussion centered on evaluating the additional responsibilities the Pension Fund assumed in July 2025.
Yevheniy Kapinus, Chairman of the Board, led the Pension Fund delegation. The parties agreed on collaboration frameworks and key topics for a study on social benefit administration processes. Kapinus stated:
'Today, the Pension Fund of Ukraine is actively working to streamline citizen services, particularly regarding the allocation of state social benefits. To achieve this, we are placing strong emphasis on the digital transformation of all processes to make them efficient and as user-friendly as possible.' - Yevheniy Kapinus
The meeting underscored the need to strengthen Ukraine’s social protection system by improving how social benefits are administered. Discussions on pressing issues and future cooperation are vital for the continued development of the country’s social security framework. This dialogue reflects a broader push to modernize public services amid ongoing reforms.
Collaboration and Social Protection
This gathering between the Pension Fund of Ukraine, UNICEF, and the World Bank highlights a growing focus on social protection and the efficiency of benefit administration. Given the current challenges facing the nation, such initiatives can significantly enhance citizens’ quality of life by ensuring access to essential social services. Cooperation between international organizations and national institutions can drive the adoption of innovative solutions in the social security system—especially relevant following the Pension Fund’s recent expansion of authority.
