The Pension Fund of Ukraine reported that citizens of the country who have never worked officially or have not accumulated sufficient insurance experience will not be entitled to receive an old-age pension. After reaching the age of 65, they will only be eligible for social assistance ranging from 2361 to 3028 hryvnias depending on family income.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine made an important statement: without sufficient experience, citizens of Ukraine will not be entitled to receive an old-age pension. Thus, individuals who have never worked officially or have not accumulated insurance experience will only receive social assistance after reaching 65.
Requirements for insurance experience to receive a pension
- 60 years - at least 32 years of insurance experience
- 63 years - from 22 to 32 years of experience
- 65 years - from 15 to 22 years of experience
If a person does not have even 15 years of official experience by the age of 65, they will not be entitled to an old-age pension and will only receive social assistance.
What is insurance experience and how to confirm it
Insurance experience is the period during which a person was mandatory insured and paid contributions to the Pension Fund. Experience can be confirmed with an employment record, certificates, or documents from archives.
- For periods after 2004 - the register of insured persons
- For periods before 2004 - paper confirmations that are entered into the electronic register
The difference between old-age pension and social assistance
An old-age pension is calculated based on experience and age requirements, while social assistance is assigned to those who have not accumulated sufficient experience or have never worked officially.
