Pension Fund Automatically Extends Housing Subsidies for One Year

Пенсійний фонд продовжує виплату житлових субсидій на наступний рік без додаткових звернень від отримувачів.

Automatic Renewal of Housing Subsidy Payments

Ukraine's Pension Fund has announced that housing subsidy payments will be automatically renewed for the period from May 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027. Most recipients do not need to take any additional steps to continue receiving assistance.

Cases Requiring a New Application

However, there are four specific situations where beneficiaries must submit a fresh application to qualify for payments:

  • When the number of people actually living in a household is lower than the number officially registered.
  • When household members pay utility bills for living in rented accommodation.
  • Applying for a subsidy in 2026 to purchase liquefied gas, solid, or liquid heating fuel.
  • When the household includes internally displaced persons who have changed their place of residence.

Changes in household composition or the list of utility services are also separate grounds for filing a new application. Documents can be submitted through a Pension Fund service center, Administrative Service Centers (TsNAPs), authorized representatives of village, settlement, or city councils, by mail, or online via the Pension Fund of Ukraine web portal at portal.pfu.gov.ua.

This automatic extension of housing subsidy payments represents a significant step in supporting Ukrainian households, especially amid ongoing economic challenges. The decision simplifies access to aid for many people, but the requirement to reapply in certain cases underscores the importance of keeping information about family composition and living conditions up to date. Subsidy recipients should stay alert to any changes in their circumstances to avoid losing their eligibility for support.

As the automatic renewal of housing subsidies aims to ease the financial burden on households, it's essential for recipients to remain informed about their eligibility. For those who may need to update their information, specific criteria require immediate attention to ensure continued support. Staying proactive can help avoid disruptions in assistance during this critical period.
