Ukraine’s Social Sector Funding Overview
As of June 23, 2023, Ukraine has disbursed substantial social sector payments. Specifically, UAH 68.8 billion was allocated for pensions, distributed as follows:
- UAH 9.4 billion paid through Ukrposhta JSC;
- UAH 59.4 billion paid via authorized banks.
An additional UAH 1.4 billion was provided for housing subsidies and benefits.
Insurance Payouts and Social Assistance
Insurance payments received UAH 3.0 billion in funding, with UAH 1.6 billion covering sick leave benefits. Furthermore, UAH 10.5 billion was spent on social assistance and other payouts. In June, 1,256,200 services were delivered to individuals who approached the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
These figures highlight the stability of Ukraine’s social policy, which continues to fund critical social benefits even amid challenging economic conditions. The substantial resources directed toward pensions and social aid are vital for supporting citizens, especially during economic hardships. It is noteworthy that payment mechanisms through multiple channels—such as banks and Ukrposhta JSC—ensure broad access to financial support for the population.
