Ukraine's Social Security Financing Update
By August 16, Ukraine had disbursed a total of UAH 60.5 billion in social security payments. Old-age and other pension transfers account for UAH 46.8 billion of that figure, split between UAH 7.1 billion paid through JSC Ukrposhta and UAH 39.7 billion via authorized banks.
- Housing subsidies and benefits: UAH 1.5 billion;
- Insurance payouts: UAH 2.2 billion, including UAH 0.9 billion for sick leave;
- Social assistance and other payments: UAH 10.0 billion.
During August, Pension Fund offices delivered 598,500 services to citizens seeking support. This level of funding reflects the government's continued commitment to vulnerable groups despite ongoing economic strains.
Social and Economic Resilience
These figures offer a measure of the country's social safety net capacity amid current challenges. Pensions, housing subsidies, and other benefits remain critical for protecting at-risk populations during a period marked by inflation and fiscal pressure.
