Funding Social Payouts in Ukraine
By April 24, 2023, Ukraine's Pension Fund had allocated a total of 111.2 billion UAH for various social disbursements. This sum encompasses pensions, housing subsidies, insurance benefits, and other social assistance. During April, Pension Fund offices delivered 1,289,400 services to citizens.
How the Funds Were Distributed
- Pension payments accounted for 75.1 billion UAH, distributed as follows:
- 9.6 billion UAH was paid out via Ukrposhta, the national postal service,
- 65.5 billion UAH went through authorized banks.
- Housing subsidies and benefits received 4.9 billion UAH.
- Insurance payouts totaled 3.4 billion UAH, including:
- 2 billion UAH designated for sick leave compensation.
- Social assistance and other payments absorbed 27.8 billion UAH.
These figures highlight the substantial scale of social spending in Ukraine, a critical factor in supporting the population amid ongoing economic pressures. The use of multiple payment channels—such as Ukrposhta and banks—helps ensure that aid reaches recipients promptly and reliably.
Such measures are vital for maintaining the country's social stability and supporting those who need financial assistance the most.
