Social Payments as of June 8
As of June 8, social payments—covering pensions, subsidies, insurance benefits, and social assistance—have been fully funded. Pensions alone account for UAH 24.8 billion of the total. Of that amount, UAH 3.9 billion was disbursed through Ukrposhta JSC, while UAH 20.9 billion was paid out via authorized banks.
In addition, UAH 1.4 billion has been set aside for housing subsidies and benefits, alongside UAH 1.8 billion for insurance payments—of which UAH 0.5 billion is designated for sick leave compensation. Social assistance and other payments received UAH 6.3 billion. During June, the Pension Fund of Ukraine handled 471,000 service requests from individuals seeking support.
The Role of Social Payments
These payments serve as a critical safety net, particularly amid economic uncertainty. By funding social programs, the government helps ensure financial stability for vulnerable groups and bolsters their resilience. The high volume of services provided reflects the Pension Fund’s active engagement, which is increasingly vital for maintaining social welfare as demand continues to grow.
