Funding for Social Benefits
As of March 9, the Pension Fund of Ukraine has detailed its financing for social payments. According to the Fund's data, 27.0 billion hryvnias were allocated for pension payments. Of this total, 4.5 billion hryvnias were distributed via JSC 'Ukrposhta' (the national postal service), while 22.5 billion hryvnias were paid out through authorized banks.
In addition, funding was provided for housing subsidies and benefits (4.6 billion hryvnias), insurance payments (1.9 billion hryvnias), sick leave payments (0.7 billion hryvnias), and state aid and other benefits (2.2 billion hryvnias). During March, the Pension Fund also processed 504,000 services for individuals who applied to its offices.
The Importance of Stable Funding
This data indicates stable financing for Ukraine's social safety net in early March, a critical factor for maintaining social security for the population. These regular pension and social assistance payments are vital for citizen welfare, especially given the current economic pressures of inflation and rising costs. The consistent operation of this system is a key component of social stability during a challenging period for the country.
