Ukraine’s Pension Fund Allocates 50 Million Hryvnias to Support Children with Disabilities

Пенсійний фонд України виділяє 50 мільйонів гривень на допомогу дітям з інвалідністю

Financial Aid for Children with Disabilities

The Pension Fund of Ukraine has announced the allocation of over 50 million hryvnias for a one-time cash payment of 6,500 hryvnias to children with disabilities classified under subgroup A. This initiative, governed by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 492 dated April 8, 2026, aims to assist families caring for children with special needs across nine regions of the country.

Eligibility and Distribution Details

Only legal guardians of children who meet the criteria as of April 21, 2026, will be eligible for this support. The following regions are set to receive the financial aid:

  • Chernihiv
  • Dnipropetrovsk
  • Donetsk
  • Kharkiv
  • Kherson
  • Mykolaiv
  • Odesa
  • Sumy
  • Zaporizhzhia

Payments will be deposited into current accounts at authorized banks, with no restrictions on how the funds can be spent. As noted in the video,

“The money can be used for any purpose. There are no limitations on specific types of goods.”

It is important to note that individuals who have already received 6,500 hryvnias under the 'Winter Support' program are not eligible for this new payment. The two benefits cannot be combined, so families that previously claimed the winter aid will not qualify. To check the status of their payment, parents can log into their personal account on the Pension Fund’s e-services portal and navigate to the 'My Messages' section. While mass disbursements are expected to begin in May and June, no exact payment dates have been announced yet.

This initiative represents a significant step in supporting families with children who have disabilities, as the financial assistance can help ease their everyday expenses. Given that the program prohibits combining payments, it is crucial for families to understand the eligibility requirements and take advantage of this new opportunity in a timely manner. Targeting aid to nine regions also underscores the government’s commitment to addressing the needs of vulnerable populations across different parts of Ukraine.
