Additionally, 4.9 billion UAH went toward housing subsidies and benefits, while 3.5 billion UAH covered insurance payments—of which 2.1 billion UAH was used for sick leave compensation. Social assistance and other payments accounted for 27.8 billion UAH. In April, the Pension Fund of Ukraine provided 1,361.0 thousand services to individuals who sought support.

The Role of State Support

These figures highlight the critical role of government assistance amid the economic challenges facing the country. The scale of social spending reflects the government’s efforts to ensure financial stability for vulnerable populations, a priority given the current socioeconomic climate.

Sustained funding for such programs is likely essential for maintaining social stability in Ukraine.
