Funding Social Benefits in Ukraine
As of July 19, 2023, the Pension Fund of Ukraine has disbursed a total of UAH 68.8 billion from its budget. This sum covers pensions, subsidies, insurance payouts, and social assistance. During July, approximately 824,700 services were provided to individuals who contacted Pension Fund offices.
Breakdown of the Allocations
Pension payments accounted for UAH 54.6 billion of the total. Of that amount, UAH 8.2 billion was distributed through Ukrposhta JSC, while UAH 46.4 billion was paid via authorized banks. Housing subsidies and benefits consumed UAH 1.3 billion. Insurance payments totaled UAH 2.5 billion, including UAH 1.1 billion for sick leave. Additionally, UAH 10.4 billion went toward social assistance and other forms of support.
These figures highlight the continued funding of social benefits in Ukraine, a critical lifeline for the population amid ongoing economic challenges. The allocation across different categories reflects the government’s social policy priorities, aimed at maintaining stability and supporting the most vulnerable groups.
