Ukrainian Pension Fund Disburses 52 Billion Hryvnias in Early 2024

В Україні розпочали виплату пенсій на суму 52 мільярди гривень у січні 2024 року.

Financial Report from Ukraine's Pension Fund

Ukraine's Pension Fund has released its financial data as of January 20, detailing the scale of its social payments and services provided. The total amount disbursed for pension payments reached 52.0 billion hryvnias. These figures offer a snapshot of the state's social safety net during a period of significant economic strain due to the ongoing war.

Of this total, 8.5 billion hryvnias were paid out via JSC 'Ukrposhta,' while authorized banks distributed 43.5 billion hryvnias. A further 4.7 billion hryvnias were allocated for housing subsidies and benefits. Insurance payments accounted for 2.4 billion hryvnias, with 1.2 billion of that sum covering sick leave. An additional 7.9 billion hryvnias was financed for state aid and other social benefits.

Scale of Social Assistance

In January, the Pension Fund's offices provided services to 888.3 thousand individuals who applied for assistance. The high volume of payments processed through the banking system indicates a degree of operational resilience within the country's financial infrastructure.

The funding of these social payments serves as a crucial indicator of the level of state support for the population. The substantial number of citizens seeking services also highlights active demand for social aid, reflecting the ongoing economic challenges faced by many Ukrainians.
