Ukraine's Pension Fund: Financing Social Payments
As of January 29, Ukraine's Pension Fund has reported its financing for social payments. During January, the Fund processed services for 1,415,400 individuals who applied to its offices.
Social Payment Expenditures
In total, 65.7 billion hryvnias were allocated for pension payments in January. This sum was distributed as follows:
- 8.9 billion hryvnias were paid via JSC 'Ukrposhta',
- 56.8 billion hryvnias were disbursed through authorized banks.
Furthermore, 5.0 billion hryvnias were spent on housing subsidies and benefits, while 3.1 billion hryvnias went towards insurance payments. Of this insurance amount, 2.0 billion hryvnias covered sick leave payments. An additional 8.9 billion hryvnias was financed for state aid and other benefits.
These figures demonstrate the stable operation of Ukraine's Pension Fund despite significant financial pressures. The Fund's activities are a critical component of the nation's social safety net, especially during a period of heightened economic strain. The substantial allocation for pensions underscores its primary role, while expenditures on housing support highlight efforts to assist vulnerable citizens.
