Ukraine's Pension Fund has released a report detailing social payment funding and services provided as of February 27th. In February, the Fund's offices processed services for over 1.55 million individuals who sought assistance.
Funding for Social Payments
The data shows that 68.5 billion hryvnias were allocated for pension payments. This total was distributed as follows:
- 8.6 billion hryvnias were paid via Ukrposhta, the national postal service;
- 59.9 billion hryvnias were disbursed through authorized banks;
- 4.6 billion hryvnias were spent on housing subsidies and benefits;
- 3.6 billion hryvnias went to insurance payments, of which 2.3 billion covered sick leave;
- State aid and other payments received 9.4 million hryvnias in funding.
The Pension Fund's report underscores the critical role these social payments play for citizens, particularly during a period of economic strain. The substantial funds directed toward pensions and social assistance reflect the state's commitment to supporting vulnerable segments of the population. This financial support for millions of Ukrainians is a key factor in maintaining social stability within the country. The ongoing conflict has placed immense pressure on Ukraine's social safety net, making these disbursements vital for many households.
