Social Payments by Ukraine's Pension Fund in March 2023
As of March 23, the Pension Fund of Ukraine had financed a range of social payments and provided a substantial number of services. In March alone, the fund's offices handled and provided services for 1,280,600 individual requests.
Financing for Pension Payments
The total amount financed for pension payments reached 69.0 billion hryvnias. This sum was distributed as follows:
- 9.7 billion hryvnias were paid out via Ukrposhta, the national postal service;
- 59.3 billion hryvnias were disbursed through authorized banks;
- 4.6 billion hryvnias were allocated for housing subsidies and benefits;
- 3.1 billion hryvnias were designated for insurance payments, of which 1.9 billion covered sick leave compensation;
- 9.4 billion hryvnias were provided for state aid and other social assistance payments.
These figures highlight the Pension Fund's active role in safeguarding the population's social welfare. The substantial volume of payments, particularly for pensions and state aid, underscores the critical support provided to citizens during a period of economic strain. This data reflects the government's ongoing efforts to address social needs and support vulnerable segments of society amidst the ongoing conflict.
