Ukraine's Pension Fund: Breakdown of Social Spending

The Pension Fund of Ukraine has released its latest funding data for social payments, current as of March 29. During March, the Fund's offices provided services on over 1.58 million occasions to citizens.

As of March 29, a total of 74.7 billion hryvnias was allocated for pension payments. This sum was distributed through two primary channels:

  • 9.7 billion hryvnias via Ukrposhta, the national postal service;
  • 65.0 billion hryvnias through authorized banks.

Beyond pensions, the Fund directed 4.6 billion hryvnias to housing subsidies and benefits. An additional 3.7 billion hryvnias was spent on insurance payments, of which 2.5 billion covered sick leave. State aid and other social benefits received a further 11.5 billion hryvnias.

These figures demonstrate the Pension Fund of Ukraine's active role in administering social support for the population.

The substantial funds channeled into pensions, subsidies, and insurance underscore the state's commitment to its social safety net amid ongoing economic pressures. Maintaining this level of funding for social programs is a critical factor in preserving stability within the country.
