Updated Procedures for Pensioner Identity Verification
The Ukrainian Pension Fund has introduced a new system for verifying pensioners’ identities via video calls, establishing clear timeframes for decision-making and notification. Under these updated guidelines, the Fund has up to 10 days to finalize a decision after the identification process, with an additional window of up to 3 working days to inform the individual of the outcome.
Approved by the Pension Fund’s board in November 2023, these regulations apply not only to pensioners but also to retired judges and recipients of insurance and other social benefits. Verification results will be sent to the email address provided in the application or made available within the user’s personal account on the Pension Fund’s online portal. Users can monitor their verification status through the "My Identification" section in their account.
Deadlines and User Guidance
Pensioners required to complete physical identification must do so by the end of 2026. However, those who successfully underwent this verification in 2023 are exempt from repeating the procedure within the same year. To assist users, a detailed tutorial on the video identification process is accessible on the Ukrainian Pension Fund’s official YouTube channel.
This move to digital video identification aims to streamline identity confirmation for pensioners and other eligible groups. It reflects a broader effort to modernize public services by reducing administrative hurdles and enhancing service efficiency. As online platforms become increasingly common, this innovation promises to make accessing social benefits more convenient for many citizens.
