Funding for Social Payments by Ukraine's Pension Fund
As of January 22, Ukraine's Pension Fund has financed social payments totaling 60.6 billion hryvnias and provided over a million services. The total number of services rendered in January reached 1,035,400. This substantial financial activity highlights the Fund's critical role in the nation's social safety net, especially during a period of ongoing conflict and economic pressure.
The 60.6 billion hryvnias in payments were distributed through the following channels and for these purposes:
- 8.9 billion hryvnias were disbursed via JSC 'Ukrposhta';
- 51.7 billion hryvnias were paid through authorized banks;
- 5.0 billion hryvnias were allocated for housing subsidies and benefits;
- 2.6 billion hryvnias were designated for insurance payments, of which 1.4 billion hryvnias were for sick leave compensation;
- 8.6 billion hryvnias were provided for state aid and other payments.
Social Support Amid Economic Instability
The scale of the Pension Fund's financing serves as a key indicator of the level of social support for the population, particularly during times of economic uncertainty. The high volume of funding in January points to the significant need for assistance among various citizen groups, including pensioners, people with disabilities, and families requiring social aid.
This underscores the state's essential role in maintaining social protection systems during crisis periods.
