Automatic Compensation Payments Between 300 and 570 Hryvnias Granted to Pensioners at Ages 70, 75, and 80

Автоматичні виплати пенсіонерам віком 70, 75 та 80 років в діапазоні від 300 до 570 гривень.

Compensation Benefits Provided to Senior Pensioners

Pensioners who reach the ages of 70, 75, or 80 are eligible for monthly compensation payments ranging from 300 to 570 hryvnias, which are credited automatically. The exact amount depends on the pensioner's age and the size of their primary pension. This additional payment is only granted if the total pension, including the supplement, does not exceed 10,340.35 hryvnias.

According to official guidelines, pensioners aged 70 to 75 receive up to 300 hryvnias, those between 75 and 80 can get up to 456 hryvnias, and pensioners over 80 may receive compensation as high as 570 hryvnias. Importantly, beneficiaries do not need to submit any application for this supplement, as it is assigned automatically once the pensioner reaches the qualifying age.

Criteria and Conditions for Receiving Compensation

Not all pensioners qualify for these payments. The type of pension, relevant legislation, length of insurance record, or employment status do not affect eligibility. However, if the monthly pension amount is close to the maximum threshold, the compensation might be reduced accordingly. When pensioners move into the next age category, their compensation increases—for example, from 456 hryvnias at age 75 to 570 hryvnias at age 80, an increment of 114 hryvnias.

The Pension Fund of Ukraine emphasizes that the compensation is processed automatically without requiring any action from the pensioners themselves. This system is established under Clause 8 of the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 168 dated February 24, 2023.

For international observers, understanding this automatic compensation mechanism highlights Ukraine's efforts to support its elderly population amid ongoing economic challenges. These payments provide essential financial relief, particularly for older citizens who may face difficulties in navigating bureaucratic procedures.
