Additional payments for pensioners in Ukraine
In Ukraine, some pensioners are entitled to additional payments to their main pension for the maintenance of minor children or grandchildren. According to the Cabinet of Ministers regulation No. 654, this allowance amounts to 150 hryvnias for each child and is paid monthly until the dependent reaches the age of 18. The payment is only granted to non-working citizens, providing financial support for families raising children.
Only one family member, specifically the father, mother, or pensioner guardian, can apply for the allowance. It is important to note that if social assistance for disability is already paid for the child, this pension allowance is not granted. To apply for payments, an application must be submitted to the Pension Fund authorities or the electronic services portal of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
Documents required to obtain the allowance
To receive this allowance, the pensioner needs to prepare certain documents. Among them:
- passport and identification code;
- employment record book or another document confirming lack of employment;
- child’s birth certificate;
- certificate of residence together with the applicant;
- certificate stating that no other social assistance is received for the child.
This mechanism of assistance is aimed at supporting families with children and is intended to alleviate the financial burden on pensioners.
Additional payments for pensioners with minor children are an important step in supporting socially vulnerable groups in Ukraine.
