Additional Payments for Senior Pensioners
Individuals reaching the ages of 70, 75, and 80 are now eligible for automatic monthly compensation added to their pension. The amount varies based on the recipient’s age but does not exceed a set maximum pension limit. This measure aims to provide financial relief to elderly pensioners whose pensions fall below a specific threshold.
Compensation Amounts by Age Group
- Seniors aged between 70 and 75 receive an extra payment of up to 300 UAH.
- Those between 75 and 80 years old are entitled to up to 456 UAH in compensation.
- For pensioners over 80 years, the supplement can reach up to 570 UAH.
These additional payments are only granted if the pensioner’s monthly pension is below 10,340.35 UAH.
The total pension amount, including the compensation, cannot surpass the limit of 10,340.35 UAH, according to the Main Office of the Pension Fund in the Zaporizhzhia region. If a pension is close to this cap, the compensation will cover the difference up to the maximum. These supplements are applied automatically starting from the beneficiary’s 70th, 75th, or 80th birthday. The type of pension, legal grounds for its assignment, length of insurance record, or employment status do not affect eligibility for this compensation.
This initiative represents a significant effort to support older adults amid rising living costs. By providing additional financial resources, pensioners can better manage expenses related to essential needs. Furthermore, automatic allocation streamlines access to these benefits, reducing bureaucratic hurdles. Overall, this policy enhances the social protection of senior citizens in Ukraine.
In addition to these automatic pension supplements, October also brings further financial support for seniors over 70 who meet specific pension criteria. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure that elderly citizens receive the necessary assistance to cope with the increasing cost of living, enhancing their overall financial stability.
