Identification of Pensioners Abroad
Pensioners and recipients of insurance payments who are abroad or in temporarily occupied territories must undergo physical identification by December 31, 2025, to continue receiving payments in 2026. According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated February 11, 2025, No. 299, this process regulates pension and insurance payments.
It is important to note that pension payments will be suspended if identification is not completed by the end of the year. Payment accruals will resume only after successful identification. For convenience, pensioners can remotely check the status of their identification through the web portal or the mobile application of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
Purpose of the Initiative
This initiative aims to ensure control over pension and insurance payments, as well as to increase transparency in the accrual system. The identification process may pose challenges for many pensioners, especially those who are abroad or in unstable conditions in temporarily occupied territories.
Given the importance of these payments for the social support of citizens, government agencies must ensure accessibility and clarity of the identification procedure for all recipients.
