President of the Ukrainian Football Association Andriy Shevchenko participated in a ceremony commemorating the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack in Paris. The ceremony was also attended by French President Emmanuel Macron, the leadership of the French Football Federation, government representatives, and other distinguished guests.
«On behalf of the Ukrainian people, I want to express heartfelt support for the people of France. We Ukrainians understand your pain, as we experience terrorist attacks from the Russian Federation every day – missiles, drones, death, and destruction... We know what it is like to lose innocent lives and to feel fear for our loved ones. In such moments, the most important thing is unity against the forces of evil. Only together can we confront those who sow horror, hatred, and death, and protect the values that unite us – life, freedom, and democracy», – emphasized Andriy Shevchenko.
Quoting «Glavkom», on November 13, 2015, a series of terrorist attacks occurred in Paris, resulting in the deaths of 131 people and injuries to over 400. One of the centers of these attacks was the «Stade de France» in Saint-Denis, where the football match France – Germany took place.

In the match Iceland - Ukraine, the Ukrainian team won with a score of 5:3. Goals were scored by Malinovsky, Hutsulyak, Kalyuzhny, and Ocheretko.
In the next round of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, the national team drew with Azerbaijan – 1:1, with goals from Sudakov and Mahmudov.

Additionally, the Ukrainian team lost to France with a score of 0:2 in the qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup, which took place at the stadium in Wroclaw, Poland.
During the match between the Ukrainian and French teams, fans demonstrated their support for the national team by unfurling a huge banner reading «Fortress of Europe».
Andriy Shevchenko's participation in the memorial ceremony for the terrorist attacks in Paris and his statement of support for France are important not only symbolically but also express support in the fight against terrorism and remind us of the significance of unity in such difficult moments.
