EU approved 90 billion euros for Ukraine: under what conditions loans will be provided

The European Union has decided to provide financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 90 billion euros for 2026-2027. This money will be allocated as loans, which will be repaid after Russia pays reparations. The funding will be sourced from EU borrowings on capital markets, which will be secured by the reserves of the European Union budget.



In Volyn, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office uncovered corruption schemes related to bribery of regional and municipal council deputies. Individuals received a bribe of $30,000, promising to ensure voting and decision-making for the implementation of a residential building construction project.



Ukraine is ready to join the EU


The Ukrainian government has completed the preparation of all negotiation clusters for joining the European Union. Kyiv has successfully completed the internal procedures to open all six negotiation blocks for EU membership. Negotiations on the fourth and fifth clusters have already been approved, which are key documents for assessing Ukraine's progress in meeting EU membership criteria.


Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Polish President Karol Nawrocki to discuss issues of war and diplomacy. The meeting is also aimed at deepening cooperation in energy and security.



Putin's direct line


Vladimir Putin held a 'direct line' with Russians during which he expressed readiness to discuss ending the war based on the principles outlined in June 2024. The Russian leader also mentioned the possibility of refraining from strikes deep into Ukrainian territory during the elections but requires the participation of Ukrainians living in Russian territory in voting.
