Evacuation from Donetsk
The first evacuation train of 2024 from Donetsk Oblast has arrived in Rivne Region, carrying 20 people forced to flee their homes due to the ongoing war. Among the evacuees were elderly individuals and people with disabilities. They were met at the regional railway station by a coordinated group of rescuers, medical personnel, police, and representatives of local authorities and the community. This evacuation is part of a continuous effort to relocate civilians from frontline areas to safer regions.
Support and Solidarity
Psychologists were on hand to provide immediate support to the arrivals, who will now receive temporary shelter in Rivne Region. The region will serve as a place of care and assistance for them during this difficult period.
This event underscores the persistent humanitarian crisis in Ukraine caused by the war and highlights the critical importance of regional initiatives to support internally displaced persons. Like many other regions, Rivne continues to open its doors to those in need, providing a safe environment and essential support. It is a powerful demonstration of the solidarity and readiness of Ukrainian communities to help one another in times of hardship.
