Full-time students in Lviv have the right to pay 50% of the fare for public transport with the student "LeoCard". The discount is available to students of higher education institutions, colleges, and vocational schools. After the tariff changes, the student fare costs 11.5 UAH. How a first-year student can obtain a student LeoCard
First-year students who have not used a personalized transport card before need to obtain a student "LeoCard". It confirms the right to pay half of the fare.
To obtain it, you need to provide a document that confirms your enrollment. This can be a student ID, an extract, or a certificate from the Unified State Electronic Database on Education. You also need to pay for the production of the transport card.
The student fare is available only with a personalized physical card. Earlier, "Lvivavtodor" explained that the student fare is available on the LeoCard, while different verification conditions apply in the mobile application.
The card must be validated during each trip. Having student status alone does not replace the fare payment and registration of the trip on public transport.
When it is not necessary to obtain a new student LeoCard
Students who have enrolled in a higher education institution or college and already have a personalized transport card do not need to obtain a new "LeoCard". If the card is functional and undamaged, it is enough to update the owner's information.
To do this, it is also necessary to confirm the new status with a student ID or a current extract or certificate from the Unified State Electronic Database on Education.
A separate rule applies to those who have already used a student "LeoCard" but continued their studies. For example, these are graduates of a bachelor's program who enrolled in a master's program, or students who continued their education at a higher education institution after college.
In this case, a new card is also not needed. It is only necessary to extend the validity of the student profile by providing a current document about full-time education.
Thus, a first-year student without a personalized card needs to obtain a student "LeoCard", the owner of a regular card after enrollment needs to update their information, and a student continuing their education needs to extend their student profile.
