Some first-year students who are studying under a contract in universities of Ukraine may receive state grants for education. This support will help reduce educational expenses. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykhailo Vinnytsky during a television marathon.
Levels of grant support
According to his words, several levels of grants are provided depending on the results of NMT-2025. For example, the first level grant of 17 thousand hryvnias can be received by applicants who scored more than 150 points in two subjects of NMT-2025.
'If a person scored 150 points in two subjects on NMT, they are entitled to a first-level grant of 17 thousand hryvnias. This amount can be increased,' - explained Vinnytsky.
The second-level grant of 25 thousand hryvnias is available for those who scored more than 170 points in two subjects, but not in all specialties. For some specialties, additional coefficients are provided for obtaining a grant.
'If the applicant chose a specialty important for the state, then the grant of 17 thousand can be increased to 25 thousand due to additional coefficients. This applies to certain specialties,' - emphasized the Deputy Minister.
In addition, in some specialties the first-level grant may be unavailable. This grant system is designed to make higher education more accessible for talented applicants who chose the contract form of education, especially in critical specialties for the state.
