Ukrainian women in 2025 must have at least 32 years of insurance experience to receive a retirement pension, despite the retirement age remaining at 60. According to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, women can retire depending on the accumulated experience.

For example, women with experience from 22 to 32 years will have the opportunity to retire at 63, while those who worked from 15 to 22 years will only be able to receive a pension at 65. Special conditions are also provided for mothers who raised five or more children or raised a child with disabilities up to the age of six.

Similar rights are granted to women who raised a child with disabilities up to the age of six.

One of the important features of calculating insurance experience is the inclusion of maternity leave. For example, the period of caring for a child up to three years is fully counted in the experience, which means the possibility of retiring at 60 for women with 29 years of actual work experience.

Despite internal difficulties, the pension system in Ukraine continues to operate, providing citizens with pensions and other social benefits. The annual increase in requirements for insurance experience is part of the reform of the country’s pension system.

The increase in requirements for insurance experience for obtaining pensions reflects certain shifts in the country’s pension system, aimed at stimulating the working age and enhancing social responsibility.
