After the heating season ends, Ukrainians will automatically have their housing subsidies recalculated. By May 2026, it will be known how much assistance households can expect during the non-heating period. This is reported by Novyny.LIVE.
Subsidy recalculation 2026: when to expect new amounts
The Pension Fund of Ukraine reported that after April 30, 2026, the right of citizens to receive subsidies for the new period — until April 30, 2027 — will be determined.
The amount of assistance will change starting in May, as the non-heating season begins, which lasts until September 30. During this time, other expenses for utility services — without heating — are taken into account.
At the same time:

in April, payments remain unchanged

new amounts will take effect from May

Subsidy in Ukraine 2026: who may not be assigned
The right to receive assistance depends on the financial status of the family and its property. During the calculation, incomes, real estate, transport, and even large purchases are taken into account.
A subsidy may not be assigned if:

the family’s income allows them to pay for utilities independently

they have significant savings or expensive property
-
someone in the family is unemployed without valid reasons
-
part of the family is abroad.
The amount of assistance is determined as the difference between the cost of utility services and the mandatory payment for the household.
For calculation, the following are taken into account:

pension payments for March of the current year
-
the average income of the family for the third and fourth quarters of the previous year.
If the sum of utility payments does not exceed the mandatory payment, the subsidy is not assigned.
