Deadly Strike in the Capital

A two-year-old girl lost her life in Kyiv during a daytime Russian assault. The tragedy unfolded in the Obolon district, where the child was outside and suffered fatal injuries from shrapnel caused by falling drone debris in a park. By 2:00 p.m., the child's death had been confirmed.

Two other people were hurt in the same attack: an 18-year-old woman and a 71-year-old woman. Earlier that morning, in the Sviatoshyn district, two retirees received medical assistance at the scene.

Investigation Launched

Prosecutors have opened a pretrial investigation into the incident as a war crime under Part 2 of Article 438 of Ukraine's Criminal Code. The Security Service of Ukraine's investigative branch for Kyiv and the surrounding region is handling the case. The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office shared the information.

This heartbreaking event highlights the severe impact of war on civilians, especially children, who are being victimized by these crimes.

Ukrainian authorities are responding through legal channels to ensure accountability. The attack is yet another reminder of the persistent threats that Ukrainian civilians face as the war continues. The strikes endanger the lives and health of peaceful residents, underscoring the need for international attention to the situation in the region.
