Coordination Platform Session Addresses Winter Challenges
Deputy Minister of Social Policy Tetiana Kirienko and Prime Minister Serhii Koretsky participated in a working session of the Coordination Platform for Humanitarian Response at the Office of the President of Ukraine. The discussion centered on winter preparedness, highlighting regional needs, water supply reliability, and backup power systems—critical concerns especially for frontline communities and major urban centers like Kyiv.
During the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of tailoring assistance plans to the current security environment. Koretsky stated,
“Together with the leadership of the President’s Office, the National Security and Defense Council, ambassadors from the largest humanitarian aid donor countries, as well as EU and international organization representatives, we discussed winter readiness. Our top priority right now is securing water supply and backup power. We are also adjusting energy infrastructure protection in response to the enemy’s evolving tactics.”
Koretsky underscored the commitment to coordinated actions to ensure aid reaches those in need promptly. Thanks to international support, schools, healthcare facilities, and other social institutions already have backup power sources in place. The humanitarian response strategies of the government and its partners must be regularly updated, synchronized, and based on joint threat assessments.
