A 16-year-old teenager from the Podilskyi district of Odesa region is accused of killing his friend through negligence. He accidentally shot his friend with a shotgun while the latter was supposed to take his picture with the weapon.
According to the police, the tragedy occurred after one teenager invited another to a quarry outside the village for a photo shoot with the weapon.
'The tragedy occurred when the invited boy accidentally pulled the trigger while posing with the weapon and shot his friend who brought the shotgun and was to photograph him.'
The teenager suffered a fatal injury to the chest cavity. Murder charges due to negligence have been filed under Part 1 of Article 119 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The Podilskyi district prosecutor's office will support the state prosecution in court. The police urge parents to pay more attention to supervising their children's leisure time and to teach them the rules of safe behavior with dangerous objects.
